About Master Rib
The business began with humble beginnings in a small factory at Crown Mines, Johannesburg, focusing only on beef ribs. Irfaan Kajee, a specialist in his field with over 20 years of experience in the meat industry identified an illustrious way of mass processing pre-cooked portioned beef ribs. Master Rib expanded its range of products to include beef, lamb and chicken products as part of the offering.
Famous Brands was the first of Master Rib’s corporate customers. Master Rib was nominated in 2020/21 for the awards in the Perishables and Best BEE company category after only two years of being a preferred supplier. The growth of the business and the strategic direction was mapped by iCubed Capital (Ismail Kajee), in design and execution closely supported by Ridwaan Kajee leading finance and systems advisory.
The vision was to develop and grow the company with strict food safety standards through which FSA (Food Safety Audit) certification has been achieved. The current aspiration is to acquire FSSC international standards during the first quarter of 2022 that will allow for further market expansion.
We endeavour to focus our efforts on ensuring that we continue to produce the finest quality, tender cuts, with laser like precision. Our products are sourced directly from abattoirs which allows our pricing to be competitive and ensure that our customers receive the most bang for their buck. At the heart of our company is our care for the customer, where we believe in building long term relationships with every single stakeholder in our customer base. Our 14 day maturing process and secret sauce make the perfect cut, every time.
Master Rib is proud to be fully certified by the FSA, and confidently holds a Level 1 BBBEE as well as SANHA certification across all our products.
